ProfiloCiao a tutti mi chiamo Siro Garrone e sono nato alle porte di Milano nell’anno della crisi del petrolio, era il ’73. Poco dopo seguo la famiglia in Toscana tra i cipressi di Bolgheri e i pini di Donoratico. I quaderni a quadrettoni si riempiono di Goldrake e Jeeg robot, sui trenini al posto del macchinista ci appiccico le figurine panini.
Trascorro una bellissima infanzia e poi i miei decidono di tornare nella verdeggiante Brianza, ora lo è decisamente meno. Frequento il liceo artistico e mi diplomo senza grandi entusiasmi.
Mentre finisco la scuola di cinema di animazione, e pubblico la mia prima illustrazione su una rivista, a Milano lavoro per due anni come aiuto animatore per Giovanni Ferrari, un po’ per il cinema, un po’ per la pubblicità, di li a breve, è il ’97, deciderò, spinto da molteplici interessi, di trasferirmi a Londra e continuare la professione di aiuto animatore.
Fortuna vuole che capito nel momento giusto e alla TVC, nota casa di produzione di cartoni animati, vedi “ Yellow Submarine “ e “The flying snowman” decidono di affidarmi tutto il lavoro di character design e di illustrazione per una storia tra il fiabesco ed il fantasy “ The king’s moon”, un’esperienza che ancora ricordo come tra le più esaltanti.
Alla fine del terzo anno dopo aver lavorato come aiuto animatore per vari studi, tra i quali Giant (Warner)per lo studio Tandem (Walt Disney) e altri, decido di tornare a casa e riprendere la carriera di illustratore che continua tutt’oggi, tra le case editrici storiche del panorama italiano, De Agostini, Mondatori, Rcs etc…

I pass a beautiful infancy and then mine decides to return in the greenisch Brianza, nowadays is definitely less then used to be. I attend the artistic grammar school and I graduate myself without great enthusiasms. While I end up the school of animation cinema, and publish my first illustration on a review,It was around early of the nineties, I spend two years as help animator to Giovanni Ferrari’s studio in Milan, little for the cinema, little for commercials. Shortly, it is the' 97, I will decide, pushed from multiple interests, to move over to London and to continue the profession. Fortune wants that at TVC, famous studio of animation, see “Yellow Submarine“ and “The flying snowman” they decide to give me the opportunity to develop the artwork (character design and illustration) of the featured animation film “the The king' s moon” a story between the fiabesco and fantasy, an experience that still memory like between most exciting. To the end of the third year, after to have worked for several animation studios, for the like of Giant ent., Tandem and others, I decide to return to Italy and to resume the career of illustrator, that continues today, |
